Implant Dentistry

Implant dentistry, or dental implants, have evolved over the last 50 years to become a predictable, lasting and safe replacement for missing teeth. Implants are now considered the treatment of choice for those who are able to have them. Dental implants are comprised of essentially two parts – an artificial root and an artificial crown. Our Doctors carefully assess our dental patients here in our Campbell River facility to determine whether or not dental implants are right for them. Certain conditions must be present, such as healthy gums and well-developed jaw bones. Dental implants may not be covered by your dental insurance, but is a one-time cost, as opposed to some other dental replacement procedures. Regular dental hygiene appointments are highly recommended following your dental implant procedure to ensure the implants are secure and your bite has not been affected.
